Space without stars

Galaxies are super hubs for STARS! We all love stars no matter what you have to say about them, it’s written in your DNA!!!! From what we know about biological lifeforms on a massive scale most of them, with the exception of a few extreme-o-philes, require local starlight to continue existence. I’d like to think of a void, which is like the opposite of a galaxy, a large empty spot in the fabric of space that we can observe. The largest void in space is a billion light years across!!!

Okay, so lets say in the middle of one of these voids there was a rouge nebula that was able to produce one solar system. Then lets suppose that the solar system was home to a terrestrial planet that just so happened to have liquid water, be in the habitable zone of it’s home star and contain intelligent life. What would the universe look like to them? The inhabitants of planet lonely would probably be very patient people having to wait at least 500 million years for light to reach them all the way at the center of the void. How sad.

Till next time space cadets!
